Suneet Varma’s Book
The much anticipated Suneet Varma Book which was in the making for 10 years was unveiled in January 2013 by H.E. Mr Francois RICHIER, Ambassador of France at the Residence of France. The Book celebrates 25 years of the couturier with a trove of iconic images, interviews, collections, and sketches.
Mirroring the growth of the country’s fashion industry, it charts Suneet Varma’s journey from his early years as a sketch enthusiast to a design education in Europe to his experience at Yves Saint Laurent in Paris to the date where he represents some of the most celebrated brands of the country.
The book is enriched with photographs by Prabuddha Dasgupta, Bharat Sikka, Tarun Khiwal, Farrokh Chothia and Vibhash Tiwari, interviews with the industry’s stalwarts JJ Valaya, David Abraham, Priya Tanna, Anil Chopra and Sunil Sethi to name a few and a foreword by textile guru Martand Singh. It also provides an insight into his design process from inspiration to runway and his vision for the future. Authored by Nishat Fatima, the editor of Harper’s Bazaar India and published by the acclaimed Niyogi Books, the book has also been awarded the 1st prize by the Federation of Indian Publishers in the Art book category for the year 2013. A hardbound book in matt finish with 296 pages and over 500 illustrious images in black and white and color the book is inset in a black and red box secured with a ribbon.
